ACORN AND SNAKE
RESOURCES
This is a list of resources of different books I’ve read, tools I’ve used, definitions, and places in nature I’ve been over the past few years. They’ve been immensely helpful on my healing journey and I put these here in the hope that they will help someone else. It can be really frustrating to not have a road map and maybe you’ll find something useful.

SIMPLE RITUALS
-
For releasing emotions: Get a piece of paper and a pencil (any art supplies really) and pour your emotions into your scribbles. Don’t think about what you’re drawing. Just let it out. When done say “thank you” and burn it.
-
For setting intentions and creating change in your life: Write a letter to yourself or to the universe. List your intentions or the changes you’d like to make and when you’re done seal it in an envelope. If you’re writing a to yourself you can mail it to yourself and read it when it comes back like a friend sent you a letter. If you’re writing it to the universe take it out side and release it by burning it.
-
For new beginnings: Take a plant cutting that you can propagate. When it grows enough roots plant it while thinking about what you plan to start in your life. The idea is that as you nurture your plant and, as it grows, so too does your new life.
-
Everyday magic: Create an altar in your home and add elements that you’d like to connect with. I use a bowl of water, a candle for fire, a feather for air, a stone for earth, and celestite for space. I call in the energies of each of these elements and thank them. I also thank the loving spirits of each of the directions. I usually do this at the beginning of my day.
-
Sacred objects to connect with nature energies: Go for a walk outdoors and look for nature objects that strike your eye or that you’re pulled towards (a feather, a stone, a stick, etc) and ask if you can take it. If it’s a “yes” go for it. If you feel a “no” thank it and leave it where it is. When you’re done gathering them think of what your intention is with them (protection, inspiration, healing, etc) and bundle them together. If this is small enough you can carry it with you or you can place this on your altar.
